The basic process of calculating the length and direction of a line given the coordinates of its endpoints or the latitude and departure of the line, i.e. inversing, is presented and discussed in detail. It ends with a calculation demonstration involving two non-consecutive points in a traverse. A virtual “homework” problem is presented, allowing time for the learner to pause the video to perform the calculation and then check their work. Running time 18 minutes.
